Franklin Special School District provides a Special Education Preschool program to meet the needs of three- to five-year-old children who have developmental delays. This school-based program may include positive peer role models in each Special Education Preschool class. The inclusion model provides a wide range of learning opportunities and the least restrictive environment that is both stimulating and challenging for the children in these classes. This special education preschool program promotes belonging, friendships, understanding of uniqueness and acceptance of others who are different. The school day is 6 hours – generally 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM – Monday through Friday beginning the first day of school.
We are currently accepting enrollment applications for typically developing positive peer role models to be considered for this program. Eligible students must be 4 years old by September 30, 2018 and reside in or have a parent employed in the Franklin Special School District. (This is a tuition-based program for peer role models.)
