VisionWe envision being a model school of academic excellence by empowering all students to find their passion and purpose in life through the development of a strong collaborative partnership with home and community.

School Hours:
8:30am -3:30 pm

Administrators:
Principal: Mrs. Amy Patton
Assistant Principal: Dr. Janetta Davenport

Clubs/Extracurricular Activities:

  • WLES: A right of passage at Liberty is for our fourth grade students to produce "WLES: Liberty Live", our morning announcement program which is broadcast daily to the entire school.  They learn to be news anchors, read from a prompter, maneuver cameras, and control computer graphics.  Each student's confidence grows as they learn to work collaboratively and communicate clearly in front of their peers. GO Liberty! GO Lions!
  • Junior Librarians: Fourth grade students can join the Junior Librarians.  This group comes to the  library 3 mornings a week.  Sign ups and training with Mrs. Watts.  Each Junior Librarian has their own assigned shelf to manage along with other library tasks.
  • Chess Club: The library hosts Chess Club three mornings a week.  Anyone can come play chess on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.  On Wednesdays, we often have a quick lesson or group game to learn techniques.  Fridays are limited to more experienced players.
  • Book Club: On Tuesdays, the library hosts rotating book clubs of 10-15 students.  The clubs are announced on WLES and interested students can sign up to participate.
  • LES Art Club: LES Art Club is a creative group of third and fourth graders who meet weekly before school with the club sponsor.  Students work together to share ideas and create beautiful art for school events, our classmates, and our community.
  • Pride Peers: Pride Peers consists of teacher-nominated students demonstrating strong interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and time management skills. Pride Peers is based on the concept of providing students with various school and community-based activities to learn, practice, and develop skills that will promote leadership and teamwork. The Pride Peers at Liberty Elementary is composed of an exceptional group of students who demonstrate the willingness to help others, take pride in their work, and exhibit independence and the ability to take responsibility. With the guidance and support of teacher advisors, students develop and implement service-based projects within their school community and take an active role in promoting a positive culture and learning environment at Liberty Elementary.
  • Recorder Club:  4th grade students can find success and gain confidence as young, music-reading musicians by participating in morning Recorder Club!  This extracurricular club is a motivating way for students to practice note name identification, rhythms, and fingerings on the recorder.  At the heart of this program, there is a positive reward system in which students receive colored "karate belts" to hang from their recorders for each song they can play successfully.  Students also gain experience playing their instruments together as an ensemble.
  • Veterans Day Cub Choir—4th grade students have the opportunity to learn patriotic repertoire and be a part of a featured performance in this year’s Veterans Day Assembly on Friday, November 10th.  During their extracurricular rehearsals, students learn singing exercises and techniques as well as how to cooperate as a team.  Our Liberty Lions build friendships and confidence in their musicianship through shared musical experiences, all while striving for good character and success!
  • 3rd & 4th Grade Musical: LES will continue our school musical tradition by performing Disney’s Aladdin KIDS this year, with performances on May 14th and 16th! 3rd and 4th grade students will sing, act, and dance onstage, or work behind the scenes to help bring the story and performance to life!  Through this experience, students will gain skills in creativity and collaboration, self-discipline, social skills like confidence and empathy, and academic skills like reading, speaking, and listening.  Students are bound to discover so much about the arts and themselves when they are a part of this extracurricular opportunity!
